what mdzs characters would watch on netflix, a thread

this is all in good fun and graphic design is not my passion so don’t roast me. a lot of these films aren’t on netflix so let’s assume

wei wuxian

- a mixture of true crime docs, political commentary, and not too trashy reality tv
- maybe likes anime (def does)
- has spurts of binge watching that causes him to finish shows very quickly
- not pictured: black mirror & unsolved mysteries

lan wangji

- very slow watcher so mainly watches movies
- slowly making his way through criminal minds
- studio ghibli films
- only watches high rated things so he doesn’t waste his time
- not pictured: ex machina + sherlock

jiang cheng

- enjoys actions films, especially with cars (idk why i just think it fascinates him even if it’s unrealistic)
- has a secret obsession with kdramas to let out his emotions
- marvel buff, will get into a heated argument on how it’s better than dc

jiang yanli

- loves baking and cooking shows for inspiration
- the only one who knows of jc’s kdrama obsession bc she’s the one that introduced him to it
- organization master

wen ning

- really likes anything that can give him a serotonin boost
- has a soft spot for nature documentaries
- a casual watcher and will only watch when something catches his eye

nie huaisang

- literally always on netflix so he has probably watched everything on it
- consumes endless hours of trashy reality tv and was the one to introduce wwx to it (don’t let this fool you, he appreciates good cinema)
- weeb and koreaboo all mixed into one

wen qing

- really loves medical shows and sapphic representation
- detests anything remotely heterosexual most of the time
- sticks to indies bc they do gay representation right
- is not really on netflix, prefers hbo

lan xichen

- i get a feeling he watches boring tv shows
- sometimes enjoys problematic tv shows bc he can see the good in things
- overall not a very avid watcher, in fact just got a netflix account so no customization at all
- just watches what’s popular

jin guangyao

- really invested in anything remotely soap opera-y
- language barriers wont stop his thirst for drama
- tried to watch anime with jin ling, hated it
- telenovelas (pls help me here bc i obviously don’t have experience)

nie mingjue

- lots and lots of action films
- no one besides his brother knows he likes and cries at any family movies
- kung fu films, lots of bruce lee and jet li
- dc fan soley bc of christopher nolan’s batman

xue yang

- horror enthusiast, like seriously
- horror movies, haunted real life stories, he enjoys it all
- secretly watches and cries to emotional family oriented shows/movies

xiao xingchen

- really appreciates films with really good sound mixing (for obvious reasons)
- he would genuinely like all genres and gives all movies and shows a chance or two
- would watch movies with song lan but doesn’t end up well

song lan

- i think he really enjoys war movies (don’t ask me why)
- another superhero fan but doesn’t pick a side bc he just enjoys it
- a slight horror junkie, but not as big as xue yang

jin ling

- a total weeb, the one that buys the mangas and action figures
- finishes 1 season a day
- marvel buff (tell me he wouldn’t idolize spiderman) just like his uncle

lan sizhui

- only watches with anime with jin ling and jingyi fo shut them up
- really likes mysteries
- animated movies, bonus if it’s slice of life
- enjoys watching nature docs with wen ning

lan jingyi

- just like jin ling, a fucking weeb
- they will fight over which anime they think is the best
- currently fighting over whose collection is better
- tries to force it onto lwj and lqr but is always shut down

ouyang zichen

- just watches anime so he can get jin ling and jingyi off his back
- his true love is romantic comedies bc he’s a sucker for romance and happy endings
