The answer is because he claims he was damaged there, but in reality he and his attorneys are venue-shopping. This, and retaliatory lawsuits like this one, are exactly why we have such a distrust of the judiciary in our state and such a terrible lawsuit climate.
The stories he's upset about are based on real interviews, and I'm confident in the reporting. Apparently, so was the Supreme Court when they decided to make the Judiciary (somewhat) more transparent following @aegallo and @johnsimerman 's series:

Secrecy, and SLAPP-suits such as Justice Hughes' lawsuit, should not be tolerated. Louisiana deserves better.
