I think, much like Bournemouth, we've come to the end of the "project" with being in the prem this long. What was once exciting, or at least gutsy, has been replaced with good spells where we nick 1-0s and bad spells where we go months without winnin (past month, Jan 20, Sept 17)
Roy or no Roy (I'd like him to stay but I'd like him to do better) the amount of unfucking that first team squad requires, in the smallest, cagiest, most uncertain transfer window of all time? It's gonna be so shite and so painful to watch, the way our recruitment's been
Greer's mum hates Palace, correctly; we play like shit, we have no history, we have a horrible stadium with a Sainsburys attached. I love that about the club but it's a lot easier to justify that love when you beat bald fraud 3-2 than when you lose your seventh game on the spin
I see none of the desire that made Puncheon shatter de Bruyne's leg a couple seasons back, none of the magic that let Chung-yong Lee somehow rifle one in to take us 5th, no cup run like '16. Even wilf, raised in the literal shadow of the stadium, cba with carrying the whole team
All we do at present is take up space that everyone would much prefer belonged to an actually relevant club like Derby, Forest, or Brom. Of course this is par for the course in supporting a shit club, I'm probably spoiled, etc. but I, for one, am tired blud. It's every season.
If we keep going like this when it all starts over in Sept (?) we go down; if we change manager and it doesn't work we go down. I say we deserve it. At least I might catch the away game at Preston in 21/22
