#ReadingRush2020 update thread

Read ZOM-B CITY by Darren Shan for a book with the same colour as (Sean’s) birthstone, which is sapphire. 3 stars, pretty forgettable but at least it was a quick read.

Read THE FIRE THIS TIME edited by Jesmyn Ward for both my birthstone (diamond - the book is white so counting it!) and a book beginning with ‘the’. 4 stars, very powerful essays regarding race in America, some of which brought a lump to my throat and had me near to tears.

Keep forgetting to update this thread. For the first book you touch prompt my daughter chose POST-MORTEM by Patricia Cornwell, which we gave 3 stars - my third time reading it, @SeanoDragon’s first #READINGRUSH2020

We also read THE CRUCIFIX KILLER by Chris Carter for a genre we want to read more of. Finished it in the very early hours of the morning and were very gripped by the second half of the story - 4 stars! #READINGRUSH2020

And how could I forget THE EXPLORER by Katherine Rundell, which I read to fulfill the book set on another continent prompt (it’s set in South America). Read this for @mgmonthly, ended up giving it 4 stars - a surprise after a very slow beginning, but the ending is *chef’s kiss*
