The pandemic is even more out of control than it was in March and April, so now we're doing even less to address it. What could go wrong?

Everything is about to get so, so, beyond unbelievably bad in the next couple months, like it's going to get so bad it's probably still going to manage to surprise us with how bad it is.

Continued unchecked viral spread with no hope of effective testing or tracing. Return to school in a completely disorganized and unsafe fashion. Widespread economic collapse, unemployment and evictions. Influenza coming in the winter months on top of everything.

It's really all coming to a head at once and it's going to be a unique confluence of catastrophe.
