Obviously, Mario Kart 8's remake is still selling -- but it IS remarkable that it's been radio silence on both Mario Kart and Donkey Kong for this long. These aren't just big Nintendo series, these are industry-wide mega hits. F-Zero isn't a top-seller, so it being dormant, ...
along with 1080, Wave Race, Excite Bike/Bots/Truck, and other racers isn't that surprising. It's also curious that Nintendo didn't try to release or revitalize a Donkey Kong Racing or Diddy Kong Racing game to tick both boxes.
I didn't count remakes/remasters or classic rereleases (Link's Awakening, Samus Returns, DKC), only new installments. These are a great way to practice franchise care, obviously. We'll see more, no doubt.
Small correction, Fed Force was 4 years ago. But it doesn't count, anyway.

Ok, fine. Not ranked, but very much cared for:
- Advance Wars / 12
- 1080 Snowboarding / 17
- Wace Race / 19
- Advance Wars / 12

- 1080 Snowboarding / 17

- Wace Race / 19

And if you're mad at those:
- EarthBound / 14 (JP), 26 (US)
