Well, actually. No.
You are incredible uniformed or a liar. Which one is it?
Neither here nor there really, because I am about to take you to school. https://twitter.com/repdlesko/status/1285295914509373442
First point @RepDLesko
Medical abortion can cause severe cramping.
You know what is worse. Labor.
Wanna guess what the pain of labor is equivalent to? Amputating a finger without anesthesia.
Second point @RepDLesko
Bleeding.
A pregnancy isnt coming out of a uterus without blood, be it abortion, miscarriage, vaginal delivery or c-section.
With a vaginal delivery the blood loss is about 500 ml and a c-section 1,000 ml. Restricting medical abortion = more blood loss.
Third point @RepDLesko
Infection.
The rate is < 0.24/1,000.
The rate of endometritis (that's an infection, FYI) for a vaginal delivery is 10-20/1,000 and up to 50/1,000 for a c-section.
0.24 is < 10-20 and < 50 (Im guessing math is hard for you)
FInal point @RepDLesko
How many women die from a medical abortion?
24 deaths out of 3.7 million doses.
Erectile dysfunction medications, like Viagra, have a death rate of 4/100,000 users. Don't the lives of men matter to you?
And @RepDLesko nationally the mortality in pregnancy is 18/100,000 live births and is it much higher for Black women. Why don't you care about this?
A woman is overall 40 or times more likely to die from being pregnant than a medical abortion.
One more point @RepDLesko and then I'll send you my @venmo because I charge for my research time. The rate of a major complication with a medical abortion -- meaning hospitalization or surgery is 0.31%.
And @RepDLesko I challenge you to a public discussion about abortion any day any time.
I know you are too scared. So sad.
But it gives me pleasure that these tweets will resurface in your feed for years to come.
Also @RepDLesko everything is a chemical. Try to get yourself out of 4th grade. You are embarrassing yourself.
