ATTN YT FOLKS IN 2020: cops have BEEN lying & misleading in reports, during testimony in jury trials, and in hearings on motions that have put away largely Black, Indigenous, and POC folks *for decades.* this is not just a phenomenon that applies with protesters/cops.

YES, cops have interactions outside of protest/police often with folks in the communities where they *live* (i.e. not just sites of protest). They use this violence and intimidation in communities, in neighborhoods, on street corners, in parks. [2/5]

The. Same. Cops. You. See. At Protests police entire communities - just not yours. but, too, they write a report with a version that fits their aims, and then that report is utilized to spur and spin the long, asphyxiating spiral of the criminal punishment system. [3/5]

what will you today, tomorrow, & the next day for the person sitting in a cell because the judge found a cop "credible" during a hearing, or because a juror believed that cops wouldn't lie because they are generally good, or because the exaggerated police report->guilty plea[4/5]

the phenomenon of police lying is not new. your awareness of it is.

for the people were not believed
for the people who were stuck with the police narrative
for the people who have been disappeared from their families
