everythingoes is guided meditation. (a thread)
guided meditation is often used to heal one person with the help of another. rather than self-meditating, someone instructs u to help u better focus on pinpointing the life experiences that continue to negatively impact you and, together, u work towards letting them go.
through meditation, you reflect on these experiences, take a deep breath in (gathering up all that negative energy) and exhale simulating a physical release of all the burdens in ur life.
the intro + first chorus of this song are the beginning stages of a meditation session. closing your eyes and getting into that state. allowing ur muscles to relax and focusing your mind on what you’re here to do: let go. namjoon reminds us saying “it passes”.
the verses of this song are the inhale. in the first verse, he’s prefacing it. he’s speaking reassuring words to us as we begin to delve into those harsh experiences. he then says, “embrace the world and suck in a breath”, instructing us to inhale and gather that negative energy.
the second verse simulates the built up tension we feel and the struggle of life as namjoon gets more aggressive with his delivery and the instrumental intensifies. this symbolizes that pain and the determination to make it thru it all. here, we hold in that breath.
with more reassurance, namjoon guides us thru that exhale, saying “just like all these winds, that like the winds it will pass”. we release all the tension along with the song as the lighter, airier chorus comes back around. that’s namjoon guiding us thru letting everything go.
the final chorus is basking in that release. taking in that comforting feeling of letting go and imagining a happier self after you’ve moved forward as he repeats “지나가” (it passes) and “everything goes” on top of the more upbeat section of the first chorus’ instrumental.
when the song comes to a conclusion, joon is singing those final reaffirming words over sole piano chords and rain sounds. this is him slowly and quietly bringing us back into reality with a fresh mind. a clean slate. a mentality after everything has finally gone.
