Even IF it *might* be true that children are at a somewhat lower risk, those children have teachers and school support staff and bus drivers and parents and grandparents and sisters and brothers and cousins and so on, who ARE NOT.

Who we KNOW are at full risk.

Kids don't exist in a vacuum.

Families, schools, homes, don't exist without adults as well as kids.

And if the kids get it, then all those other people are likely going to get it too. In here in the poor part of the state, a lot of them don't have healthcare.

AND very likely, what you're going to find out is that kids are NOT less likely to recover from the disease in any greater numbers or with any fewer side effects.

Because you REALLY don't know, do you?

No, what you're very likely to find out is that when we stop quarantining our children and when you start infecting kids in large numbers, then larger numbers of them are going to die or suffer serious consequences.

In other words, you don't have enough data at the moment to even consider putting a bunch of children together in a school.

But THEN, when you figure this out, well, then it'll be too damn late.

Just like it is here in Florida. Too late.

Even though Florida is daily seeing record numbers of new infections and new deaths as this pandemic spirals out of control, our idiot Republican governor won't admit his responsibility and STILL insists on pretending like there's nothing wrong. And HE wants to open schools.
