To make matters worse he then sat next to her dead body, drank tea and smoked a cigarette while her uncles came to applaud the father for what he did. I wish I can tell you that this is a one off and that we don’t hear stories like this everyday.

This has happened and still happens to many women under the name of “honour killings” which is a normalised concept in the middle east both legally and socially. The government is very lenient and understanding towards criminal activities as such.
