hi ! so i need to address the thing going on regarding some of the “controversies” on Michael using the word “سبحان” on his mask for his photo or aesthetic,
PLEASE READ THE THREAD BELOW THROUGHLY
[why i made this thread]

as a muslim myself that do understand Arabic, and learn the studies of Qur’an and Islam at my school for 11 years, i know what some of you are trying to address here, but i feel the need to speak up because i fully understand this topic and want to-
encourage others that this matter is not a thing to be offended and upset about.
please read my thread below throughly to get a full understanding of what i meant. obviously i am a 4/4 stan but i do not make this thread to defend Michael at any way, because obviously when it comes to Islam, I will put my religion above anything else.
But i make this thread to give my muslim friends a better understanding of why this photo is NOT in any way upsetting or offending.
As you can see, the picture shows that Michael is wearing a mask that says “سبحان”. the word “ سبحان” or “subhaan” literally means “praise/glory” in the general Arabic language.
Please keep in mind that Arabic is a language. Everyone is entitled to use it, understand it, and speak it. here are some screenshots of the general meaning of سبحان :
although however, some of them might took it out of context and refer to the Islamic Expression of the word “سبحان الل” or “Subhanallah” which means “Glory to Allah/God”.
But, even “سبحان الل” also has a general meaning of “May God be Praised” Because the word Allah translates to God in Arabic. Yes we do use it in our prayers, but other religions do too ! As it is a language that also has a general context in it.
so now, my point is,
“is it right to wear that particular word as an “aesthetic” on a fashion item ?”

my answer will be yes, as it is just a WORD that means PRAISE/GLORY in arabic.
in this matter, it is safe to say that Michael didn’t seem to have any malicious intent to offend us as muslims or arabic people in general.
also, please understand that i am NOT making this thread as a way to invalidate anybody’s feelings, but rather to give people much understanding of what is REALLY considered offending or upsetting.
Thank you so much for reading ! ❤️
