started @naval’s 60x60 meditation routine today. The goal is to sit for 60 minutes everyday for the next 60 days. Will be using this thread to track my progress.

if you have any tips / resources to improve my experience, hmu
Day 1/ woke up earlier than usual to try and meditate in the morning. Found myself pretty sleepy and spent the first 20 minutes just feeling really drowsy. Wasn't really sure what to do. Time began to fly when I focused on breathing exercises. Did Kapalabhati & alternate nostril.
Day 2/ did some more breathing today. Kept wondering to myself if I'm meditating right, until I realized the very fact that I'm doing it is what makes it right. Honed in on the sound of the lawn-mower outside. Practiced gratefulness for the things I have & people I love.
Day 3/ got started a little later than usual. Switched it up & started outside for the 1st half. Focused on the heat of the sun on my skin and the noises around me. Got really hot so went inside for the 2nd half and finished w breathing exercises. Kept losing focus today.
Day 4/ woke up really early today & got right down to it. Mind kept drifting off to random thoughts. Kept trying to bring focus back to the breath. Stared at the tree outside my window & focused on its movement. Time passed by a lot quicker today.
Day 5/ woke up really late today & didn't feel like sitting down for an hour today. Took a shower and forced myself to do it anyway. Glad I did. Realized that the days I don't have the patience to sit down are the days I need to do it the most.
Day 6/ took a break over the weekend. Think breaks are necessary for long-term sustainment. Woke up at 7:30 today and hit the ground running with some meditation. Deep breaths in and long "Om"s out. Focused on the vibrations that "Om" created in my body. Good session today.
Day 7/ today was okay. Was pretty tired when I woke up so felt really sleepy for the first half. Also was very fidgety throughout the hour. Ended with some stretches because I didn't want to sit still anymore. Wasn't that focused :/
Day 8/ very solid meditation today. Probably the best session I've had so far. Played flowing river sounds in the background and focused on the water. Imagined myself on a rock in the river. Envisioned water running through my body, flowing my thoughts away. Time passed by quick.
Day 9/ woke up really early around 7:30am and got my hour done. Had a lot of energy today morning, so sitting still was a little tougher. Was focused, but also kept wondering when the 1 hour would be done. Felt longer because I was thinking about the time instead of the breath.
Day 10/ took the last 3 days off, so today was a getting back to the schedule day. Was weighed down by a lot of thoughts, and the hour felt much longer than usual today. Feeling more leveled after.
Day 11/ haven’t been too consistent these past few days. Getting started is easy. Keeping it going is hard. Meditated at night today after a run. Was really windy around here, so opened my window and tried to focus on the breeze and the flow of the wind.
Day 12/ woke up at 6:30 today & got right to it. I find that when I meditate/run, I usually have to sleep less. Only slept for about 4.5 hours, but feeling more awake than any normal day. Very good meditation today. Lots of thoughts flowed in and out. Hour ended quickly.
Day 13/ early morning again. Good meditation today. Lots of deep breaths. In-hold-out-hold & repeat. Didn't want the hour to end today. Feeling zen.
Day 14/ good meditation. Nothing special today. Didn’t focus on my breath that much today. Just let thoughts go through me. Got kind of antsy towards the end. That is all.
meditated in front of an actual river today during our hike up the Eagle Falls Trail @ Tahoe & the YouTube river sounds pale in comparison to the real deal

You can feel the uncurbed power of the river’s flow

doesn’t count as a day since it wasn’t an hr, but wanted to share
Day 15/ have been doing shorter meditations these past few days, but finally got back to this challenge & sat down for a full hour. No sounds, no breathing exercises. Just sat in silence & took deep breaths. Very good session.
Day 16/ okay session today. My mind wasn't as present today & I felt less focused. Definitely have noticed that the time I meditate makes a big difference. Early morning is the most focused, and in the afternoon/during the day is less so.
Day 17/ silent meditation today. Had a lot of ideas flowing thru my head that I wanted to write down. Didn't want to interrupt my session tho, so I made an acronym to remember all the ideas for later: MIRFFP. Mind feels rested.
Day 18/ pretty good meditation today. Silent & focused on breathing. I am getting good at predicting when the hour will end.
Day 19/ oops forgot to log yesterday so this is for 8/19. Just an okay session today in the evening. Had some things on my mind which kept blocking my focus. Gonna try & wake up really early tomorrow to meditate.
Day 20/ great, early meditation after a long time today. Coming out of it feeling very calm & present. Love days like this.
Day 21/ people say when you do something for 20 days, you develop a habit out of it. I did meditation for 20 days, and then dropped it for 6...rip

today was day 1 of getting back on track. Pretty good meditation. Shooting for more consistency now
Day 22/ good meditation today. Wasn't focused for the most of it but ended very nicely. That is all
Day 23/ oh yeah forgot to write for yesterday but I switched things up & tried a guided meditation I found

I liked it, but I think I prefer just sitting in silence or listening to river sounds more
Day 24/ tried another guided meditation & this one was really fantastic ()

It was only twenty minutes long so I replayed it after it ended, and then just sat in my own tranquil for the last third

Feeling serene
