Facial hair, strong jaws, ‘masculine’ (made-up) features are all present on women of colour. There’s a reason every transphobic person is also racist. Their ideas of womanhood have always been based on a racialised history, a history of violence against women of colour.
I see this has enraged the TERFS.
You can keep screaming into the ether, the rest of us are reading up on our history, learning about white supremacy and studying how gender, masculinity & sex has been used to cause violence against queer men, women of colour & trans women.
Whiteness has for much of the last few hundred years determined what is and isn’t masculine or feminine, what is woman and what is not, what is rightful and what is wrong. The crux of the problem here is that I am pointing out a problem of white supremacy which is the violence that women of colour have faced because of this twisted idea of what is man/masculine or fem/woman. But because I am supporting trans women too, people are angry. Scary.
There is history to the violence faced by women of colour and trans women and that is primarily rooted in a long tradition of phrenology & eugenics. Biological determination of what is and isn’t real, good, woman or man has been used to commit acts of violence. Violence is bad.
For my lovely followers who have been curious as to the reason for this thread. It is in response to this. Remember to center love in everything you do. Don’t choose violence as so many transphobes have. Don’t choose Trump.
