People of Mzantsi, gather around. There’s something I want to share with you....
Over 3 months ago @robertmarawa gave me a platform of his show to discuss COVID-19. I highlighted the problem Mzantsi was going to face.... LOCAL TRANSMISSION!!!!
Today UK has 12 new deaths, 580 new cases.
SA had 85 new deaths, 13 449 new cases yesterday.
Do you remember the Italian mayors screaming at citizens to stay indoors during the lockdown. Then they were having burials, one or two family members at the grave site.
I’ve had sight of the epidemiological reports, funerals are a major contributory factor in the community spread in Mzantsi.
The government has set the regulations for how funerals should be conducted. The citizens are not adhering to them. Dr Toni @simtatsi laid it out during his father’s funeral
I was told over two months ago that the deaths were happening in clusters and that funerals were a major problem
Today most people know families that have lost more than one member due to COVID 19.
However, the citizens are still up in arms about not being allowed to visit family members. They compare it to other establishments being open.
In big family gatherings, no one will be monitoring social distancing, wearing of masks and use of hand sanitisers. However, with reopening of certain establishments, that’s mandated.
Let’s go back to the funerals. I know of two instances in Mthatha where ambulance crew refused to transport patients to hospital as they were not tested. Told the families to take them to a GP.
Patients then put in private cars by family members, both demised in transit.
Funeral arrangements need to be made, for that to happen, family members need to be on the move, go to places and see people. Community members also visit (ukuvela) and hold prayers.
Now, if there’s a positive result, do you realise the difficulty in contact tracing?
I hope this programme is fake, but look at it....
People with influence are galavanting like it’s 2018, jets, interprovincial travel, parties, alcohol... it’s like there’s no lockdown.
If you go back to the current daily cases there. What’s difficult in going to work, getting essentials and going back home?
I did say that @CyrilRamaphosa and @DrZweliMkhize did what they had to, set the toughest lockdown regulations but the resistance from @Our_DA and the lobbyists wore them down. Now kukwavula’zbhuqe.
The behaviour needs to change, please think about the next person. If you get tested, stay at home. If it’s COVID 19 detected, inform your contacts and stay at home.
AVOID FUNERALS.....
If it’s necessary to attend one, stick to the regulations. DO NOT ATTEND DAILY PRAYERS!!!!
I thank you......
