So parents (with means) all over Charlotte (and beyond) are having conversations about ways to educate their kids this fall, since @NC_Governor and districts have decided not to do so (remote learning isn't educating).
Options seem to be:

1. Drop out and opt for private school
2. Drop out and form a neighborhood co-op. Hire a teacher. Only the best teachers will actually end up with this opportunity.
3. Stick with remote "learning"
4. Drop out and homeschool
A couple of things to note:

1. Options 1 and 2 don't do anything to actually reduce contacts or virus transmission

2. Options 3 and 4 don't work for anyone without significant flexibility at work

3. Three of four options involve dropping out of public school, reducing funding.
This leaves the school district(s) like @CharMeckSchools with:

1. Only kids who don't come from families with means.

2. Whatever remaining teachers who couldn't get hired away.
This conundrum further exacerbates inequalities and reduces educational quality.

And remember, districts (like @CharMeckSchools) are allowing this to happen despite the recommendation from scientists and physicians worldwide.
