Honest question. What is up with the new trend of married people (again, people who are married) referring to their spouse as “partner” instead of “husband” or “wife”. Have the terms “husband” & “wife” become uncool, is there something else going on here. I’m genuinely curious.
👆🏽I am speaking specifically of heterosexual couples. I can understand why gay couples use term “partner” instead, I’m wondering specifically about heterosexual couples using this new terminology instead of the traditional “husband” or “wife” terms.
To clarify some things. It’s a trend I’ve noticed among Christian married couples who fall more on the “progressive” side. I absolutey think “partnership” is the best term to describe what a marriage is, was just curious to why it seems “husband” & “wife” has fallen out of favor.
