The boundary works both ways. Always ask before you unload your problems.
I wanted to clarify. This tweet is about consent. If someone didn't give you consent to tell them your issues, it's not fair to expect them to listen to you. You don't know what THEY are dealing with and they might not be prepared. If someone WANTS to offer empathy, then go ahead
This is why I push mental health first aid. To protect those who come to us as well as ourselves from harmful attempts to help. Our system is broken, that's why people come to us when they're unwell. It's important to know next steps and how to be safe for both parties.
