i& #39;m doing this thread as i unfortunately read multiple comments of people claiming that taki was overrated, overhyped, and that he was only biased bc he was quite young and a bts stan. i may not effectively change ur opinion, which is ok, but i& #39;ll try :)
1. well first of all, if you proclaim urself an "eggie", although you might get protective over your own bias, i believe that you should respect every applicants. saying that taki has no talent and is dull sounds rlly insenstive and toxic to me ; if he was chosen+
+amoung hundred(s) (maybe thousand?) of trainees, it& #39;s for a reason. there& #39;s no talentless applicant in i-land, that& #39;s why the competition is so intense!
2. judging the potential of someone over few episodes / hours isn& #39;t easy. i also tend to think that taki is a bit reserved. he isn& #39;t that loud within a group ; he didn& #39;t care having the 12th line, with barely screentime during the fire perf.
this resolves to the fact that we didn& #39;t get to hear that much his vocals, for example. which is a shame bc i genuinely think that his timbre is interesting. he indeed needs practice over his voice control/stability but taki& #39;s hard worker, he& #39;ll improves soon.
3. as taki& #39;s special talent seems to be dancing, some people compare him to niki, claiming that he& #39;s far from being as good as him. well the thing is that niki is clearly and undeniably a dance machine. but i personnally feel like they both radiate a different energy
through their dances which make it wrong to compare them. niki has this remarkable dynamism but taki puts certain "colors" on the choreography ; as the producers said, he already has a unique charm which is rare as such a young age!
4. he only has been training for 10 months! idk if you guys realise that. not even a full year? considering as well that he& #39;s japanese, he might be still a bit unconfortable with korean ; performing in a language that you don& #39;t speak/understand that well isn& #39;t easy.
5. however! he still succeeded to get the 4th highest score among the 12 other trainees. even tho he only sang a unique and short line, even tho he is fifteen. you can& #39;t tell me taki hasn& #39;t potential with that fact :)
6. to sum up this thread that i could continue writing for hours, taki might not expose it as much as other trainees, he still got an unquestionable potential. i wish we& #39;ll soon get to see it more, but in the meantine i only ask you to not neglect him during the global voting+
