Thinking about how I& #39;ve gone from 300ish followers pre-lockdown to 5x that now

Primarily I feel bcus I was working on speaking out more explicitly about the things I care about. Which for me meant breaking this idea that I had to appear "professional" and self-censor 24/7
Self-censoring is a white respectability politic - but one we have to play to in order to be palatable, & #39;professional& #39; or & #39;academic& #39;

But in working on that & speaking my truth, there& #39;s this new idea of being coded as a multiple minority experience source of education
Which means now, I& #39;ve had to reckon with this idea that I can& #39;t be infallible. But I am. I make mistakes and will likely continue to.

My identity has always had multiple intersections, and I& #39;m happy to speak to that truth & find community & help others in similar situations
However, this doesn& #39;t mean I& #39;m a spokesperson or a free-for-all education service; not everything I say will be a teachable moment.

I expect you to respect that.
Not to mention the free labour - that can easily slide to exploitation &/ fetishisation - inherent in treating multiple minority folk as a source of education!

I& #39;m happy to educate on my terms. If you want me to educate on yours, please approach & fund or tip me! https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🌻" title="Sonnenblume" aria-label="Emoji: Sonnenblume">
