6/10 Apart from that terrible, illegal use, this kind of synthetic media could further muddy our digital rivers of information--rivers already turbid with mis-and-disinformation of all kinds, as @cward1e points out.
7/10 And #DeepFakes are getting easier to make, which has a some people really worried, as @zittrain notes.
8/10 And so we are in the midst of a #DeepFake creation/detection arms race, says @LyuSiwei, who also appears in the documentary, in a @Sciam op-ed: https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/detecting-deepfakes/
9/10 #DeepFakes are coming, we can't stop them, but as @daniellecitron says in the doc, they also have amazing creative potential.
