Rani ki Vav The "Queen's Stepwell" situated in patan,gujarat.
Made in 11th Century by Queen Udayamati on memories of his King Bhima-I(Chaulukya dynasty) it said that it taken 20Years to complete this finest archieture which is constructed in Maru Gurjara style.

Its Designed as an inverted temple highlighting the sanctity of water.
This stepwell is divided into seven levels of stairs leading to circular well surrounding with walls pillars which are ornamented with carvings figures and sculptures.
Sculptures include dashavatara of Lord Vishnu,Maa Durga,Ganesha,Shiva idols it said to have 500 principle sculptures & thousands of minor ones too depicting large no of womens in their everday life activites combing hair,looking at mirror,their motherhood etc.
Being located on the banks of saraswati river once this stepwell got flooded by river and said to be submerged for around 700years untill on 1940's it got rediscovered during excavations that revealed the stepwell and In 1986 ASI carried the restortation of this place.
In 2014 this site declared under the UNESCO World Heritage Side.
And Even UNESCO said Rani ki Vav as the Queen of all the stepwells in India.
In 2016 this place got the title of "Cleanest Iconic place at Indian sanitation conference".
The Famous Sun Temple of Modhera & Dilwara Temples are also built during Bhima-I reign and Rani ki Vav and this temple have the similarity in their architectural design.
