Arrests & prosecutions of #HK pro-democracy leaders: Tam Tak-chi was charged in court on July 17 w inciting unlawful assembly, disorderly conduct & seditious intent, the 2nd pro-dem leader to face sedition charges. 4 District Councillors were arrested in Yuen Long on July 19. Now, in all, 68 #HK pro-democracy leaders have been arrested 93 times. 28 of them are DCs, who have become a particular target of police since the landslide pro-democracy victory in DC elections last November.
After 4 #HK pro-democracy District Councillors were arrested in Yuen Long on Sun, now in all, at least 164 people have been arrested for protesting the 7/21 pro-CCP thug attacks there. Police arrested 37 attackers; 7 are on trial. 0 police have been held accountable.
7 pro-democracy District Councillors were ticketed for violating coronavirus social distancing rules on Sun in Yuen Long- 1st time since May 10 police have fined protesters on public health grounds. At least 137 ticketed in all. No coronavirus cases have been traced to protesting
Much focus has been on the #CCP-imposed 'national security law' but the #HK crackdown on dissent is much wider in scope & has been going on for months: all protests banned, protesters attacked & arrested, trials steadily increasing. #HKPoliceState is a human rights disaster area.
