Spirituality talk here. If God isn’t your thing you might want to skip.

So about 18 months ago my church introduced a program called Come Follow Me designed for situations like COVID. Basically if poop hits the fan, and people weren’t able to attend church...
We would do basically everything we would normally do in the building at home.

So here we are four month in to it and it has been awesome for our family.

I mean there has been a notable change in my home.

Yesterday we were talking about prayer, specifically...
What are the elements of a prayer?
- You know, addressing God
- what blessings you are grateful for
- asking to bless others
- addressing any struggles
- etc
- closing it in the name of Jesus or whatever your preference
Then I asked, what shouldn’t be in an prayer?
- asking for anything consider selfish, ie to be rich or better off than someone else
- revenge
- anything considered self serving or greedy.
I then asked where have we seen attitudes in the latter question being portrayed publicly? And this brought on some rather great discussion with my teenage daughters.
Normally I ask the questions, and the way it works in my home my we express our opinions. I really try my hardest to be the example and allow for my kids to contextually share concrete experiences letting them discover the lessons taught in scripture in their life.
And that the Bible and The Book of Mormon are documents of events life experiences set On a different time line.

Normally talking about religious matters are so personal to me that I would not do it social media.

But the Come Follow Me program is a game changer.
I really want my girls to find out for themselves whether if the things I have taught them to believe ARE NOT true. So that they discover for themselves.
DM if you have questions and not to bash me or my religion. I just a dude pretending to be a cooler dude.
