if I wanted to "hang out with them to smoke", their goal would be to have me make money for them through prostituting me. I was terrified. I really avoided something bad there.

A very common one I hear is a "trip to Dubai". Dubai is sex traffick central. Do not fall for this. I know this applies to only a minority of you, but this information is so crucial for those working in sex work outside their own home. I only have experience in strip clubs. So, I can only expand on that.
I don't care how well you know your best regular, do not go with them outside the club.

I know that the whole idea about working in the club is to get as much money as you can, but your safety ultimately comes first and it has to start with you. You're your first line of defense. Don't let that guard down.
I know everyone wants to focus on the unfortunate events after Angel Dust got lured, but please don't discount the BEFORE. Cuz that's where it all starts.
I don't want anyone to go through this if they can help it. Prevention is one thing, but if you're already in this situation, there is help for that too.
