In honor of #YourEyesTell and all it's recent achievements: a short thread of Jungkook's famous eyes. Many things drew me in about JK, but his eyes were the start & finish. In the back of my mind, I kept trying to figure out what exactly it was. They're large & pretty++

but that's not all. Firstly, Jungkook's eyes actually droop slightly down at the ends, a characteristic along with his large irises associates him immediately with cute, trusting animals like puppies or bunnies. Inspiring trust in an audience is invaluable++

Take popular movie leads who need to inspire trust & faith in 2+ hour movies. It's not rocket science when we select "leading men", we have a huge connection with kindhearted underdogs who will fight. We respond to that as a society, and we like to see it reflected on screen.++
That's exactly where Jungkook's duality kicks in. Puppy eyes are nice, but the second ingredient? His eyebrows! The upward lift of his eyebrows amps up the energy in contrast to his soft puppy eyes. People like piercing gazes but not TOO much, not too abrasive.++

Moreso, Jungkook's lower eyelids have a similar pull that MJ's have. It allows just the right amount of white in the eyes as he looks up, and the direct contrast between that white & his dark irises creates a fierce effect during performances (MJ took full advantage of that)++
I've talked about Jungkook's high contrast eyes here as well:

Of course, I'm just isolating his eyes in this thread, but the boyishness of Jungkook's face also helps in abating his fierce gaze, till the overall effect is just at the right balance. A face that is contrasting in nature helps the complexity & keeps the audience interested.++
I know sooner or later I'm going to have to do the gigantic Jungkook face thread (dreading it 😂), but until then I'll add that the spacing between Jungkook's eyes, the width of his nose, the raised upper lips all help towards his dynamic. His very face is a mission & a story.
