Marriage and children are gifts from God, and so is celibate singleness. If you love a holy thing so much that it becomes an axe you grind, you’ve turned something good into somebody else’s burden.
If the only thing a married parent can think of to talk to a single brother or sister is “When do you think you’ll get married and have kids, you know, just like me.”, then there’s a problem. They’re your brother or sister in Christ. Speak to them about Christ.
Encourage them to walk in holiness. Encourage them to love the Lord. Encourage them to believe God’s truth over and above the many, many discouraging lies they are receiving from the world at large.
In fact, I would say, that the singles, and divorcees, and widows and widowers in your life are getting flooding daily with lies about how they are incomplete, how they are lacking, how they are missing out, how they have wasted their lives.
May Church be a refuge of encouragement from such lies.
