If you're thinking "you know what, now is the time for me to publish a we're-all-humans-colorblind-all-lives-matter kumbaya-diversity-makes-us-more-productive" piece, I really wish you'd read the room.

No, not the room you're in, which is probably full of problematic non BIPOC.
The other room you often ignore until you need to "fix diversity" with a photo op.
Keep those milktoast sentiments to yourself. Journal about it. Use some stickers and glitter. Have a good cry. Make a vision board. But keep it to yourself.
Ask yourself...

Am I scholar in the area of race, gender, sexuality, disability, immigration, religion, health disparities, or a variety of other areas of expertise really required to write this from a position of authority?

No?
Ask yourself...

Do I have the expertise to review this manuscript? Is the sum total of my EDI knowledge whatever I picked up in a required training my employer sent me to? Perhaps I should not be reviewing this and may, no mater my intention, cause real harm?
