Let me delete my rage ramblings and put this into a more well organized format so that people can see what the hell is going on in the state of GA in regards to covid testing (1/?)
Let& #39;s start with the first day of symptoms. We went through @GaDPH& #39;s little page because you HAVE TO HAVE AN APPT to get tested down here. Despite us clicking on "apts for today" the soonest they could get us in was 7 days later (2/?)
We were provided with QR codes that were sent to our emails. When we presented our respective codes to our testers, they said that my QR code doesn& #39;t work, but they would test me anyway since I showed up (gee, thanks) (3/?)
So they took down my info again, including my birthday and email (which I had to correct several times as the man was SURE Ceplina was spelled with an "S") and we got our tests. They told us to expect the results via email in 3-8 days. (4/?)
So Jared received an email this morning saying that his results are in and to follow the link to find out what& #39;s up. The prompt asks for a b-day and he enters it in, but it says "this b-day is not the date we have on file" (5/?)
Just want to note, that I did NOT receive my email yet, and I do have anxiety that I never will bc of the tester who couldn& #39;t believe the spelling of my last name. But in any case bc of the QR code fiasco, I thought, let me try my b-day instead of jared& #39;s. No luck. (6/?)
So we switch around the month, the day, we tried a year earlier, a year later, for Jared& #39;s birthday with no luck. He was not the one with a qr code issue the day of testing, so we have no idea why on earth it not recognize his birthday (7/?)
So I have NO idea how on earth Jared and I are supposed to access his results or if mine are ever coming. I can& #39;t get more sick time from work UNTIL I have those results and it& #39;s already been 2 weeks. (8/?)
So if you, @GovKemp and @KeishaBottoms could get off your asses and actually DO something about the way testing is run in this state, that would just be super. We could give a fuck about your little mask feud right now. Get. It. Together. (9/9)
Not to mention @GaDPH do you have a plan to make testing better - to guarantee people are able to SEE their results? Do YOU know the magic birthday the tester decided to put on my partner& #39;s test? BC currently we STILL don& #39;t know for SURE whether we have Covid-19.
At this point, we would have to make another apt through ya& #39;ll @GaDPH , which will take a week, plus another business week to find out what the results are. My job is STILL waiting on my results in order to give me FMLA paperwork. DO BETTER. ITS YOUR JOB
And on that note, I& #39;m going to go get day drunk. Fuck GA, I can& #39;t wait to leave this place. I feel terribly for every person who is STUCK here!
Adding to this thread quite late to say that I got my test July 16th and had to track down my results via @GaDPH. Who eventually told me on the 27th that they think I tested negative.
Because I had exact covid symptoms and had to actually go and track down my results myself, I didn’t believe this result. So yesterday I went for an antibody test, to see if I had it at all. Those tests came back POSITIVE. I did in fact have covid.
False negatives are common throughout the world, not just GA, so i won’t drag them too hard for that. What blows my mind is that Jared also tested negative. An entire household given a faulty negative. We could’ve been spreading it to other people, but...
..Luckily (and unluckily lets be serious), the results took SO long to get back to us, that we had to quarantine for all that time anyways. So after getting sick on July 9th, on AUGUST 1ST, I FINALLY KNOW NOW THAT I HAD COVID 19.
