I'll like to share a thread on what #job or venture you can #startup with under GHS1000.

1. Popcorn business 🍿
In 2016, I got a brand new popcorn machine for less than GHS500. I bought corn and other products, got a place and started with a friend.
With a machine, you can do:
a. Popcorn sales
b. Machine rental

You can also make popcorn orders for people's events as well. The popcorn business is lucrative when you have a good joint.
2. Photography 📸 startup
People will laugh that it's impossible to start #photography with less than GHS1000. It is true to a certain point. But also know that there are types of photography. Here, we will look at:

a. Passport and
b. Event photography
In the image above is a @Sony #Cybershot cam from @amazon which is ~ GHS600. With a 20MP cam like this, you can start a passport photog business where you take passport pics and print. You can print at an express shop or get a cheap #SELPHY printer and earn a lot with it.
With event photography, all you need is the skills in photography. I'm a photographer with 2 cameras now. I started with no camera. I began by renting #DSLR cameras from rental shops & friends & made money to buy my own. You can venture into event photography like birthday ...
...parties, funerals, church events and programmes. Here you gather a lot of experience and also make money to up your photography game. You can rent gears from shops like McB, CeeJay etc

3. Doctors recommend coconut because of its water & nutritional contents. Selling #coconut is one venture you can go into. The business is lucrative. You can buy a coconut fruit for as low as 0.50p and sell it as high as GHS4 or 5. All you need is a stand, a cutlass and umbrella.
4. With ¢800, you can buy a bale of #Secondhand clothes & retail them. Prices depend on size (25/50/55kg), type of clothes & country of origin. Toddler clothes, men's shirt, ladies dresses have good value. The clothes are sorted in grades with the 1st & 2nd with good prices.
You can also opt for ladies' shoes and bags which also sell. The secondhand business comes in handy when you get a good location and quality stock, you'll sell well
5. Cooking/Catering
With your cooking skills or hiring someone who can do the cooking for you, you can start up a #catering business. With the advent of delivery & courier services, you can cook from home and deliver per clients' requests. Below are some fast foods you can do:
a. Indomie Fast food joint
Indomie & fried egg joints are patronized and loved by a lot of people because of it's readily available nature. You can start up with a few boxes of indomie and eggs with other essential ingredients.
b. Stews and soups
Students, the working class and even some families are busy & lack the luxury of preparing meals daily. With your culinary skills/knowledge, you can prepare soups and stews in large quantities for these clients to buy.
c. #Grocery retailing
Just as some people are busy to cook, others are busy to even go shopping for their groceries. You can do these for them at a fee. Or buy from wholesale shops (where it's cheaper) & retail. Dairy products, beverages, toiletries, fruit & veggies.
d. Roasted corn/ #plantain
Everyone loves Kofi Brokeman. Get a spot and add a modern touch to roasting plantain or corn. You can deliver as well to corporate bodies or do it for events.
e. Breakfast/beverage joint
Hausa kooko, Tom brown, rice porridge etc cooked, packaged and delivered is something you can do as well. These can be sold in traffic or delivered to offices and at events especially on weekends.
f. Khebab/barbeque joint
With less than GHS1000, you can start a khebab/barbeque joint. These sell well when close to drinking spots. You can add a touch to it by offering this service at events
g. Fresh #fruits sales
Watermelon, bananas, pineapples and oranges can be sold in whole or be made into smoothies. Try one of these on campus or at events.
SACHET/BOTTLED WATER SALES SALES
'Water is life' they say! We all drink & need to drink it for survival. Sachet water sales is so lucrative you can make a 100% profit on one bag of sachet water sold. A bag sells between ghs2-3 in the distributor truck. You can sell from home,
If you have a good spot, you can sell more than 3 bags or get sellers to do the job for you. You can as well be a retailer, where you buy in bulk from companies and resell to households, on campus and in the streets. All you need is a cage/storeroom and source of cooling
