The Trump/Barr goon gestapo in Portland is blatantly fascist on multiple levels but it also seems like the majority of analysis on this topic still VASTLY underestimates the degree to which it’s targeted GOP retribution against Portland’s penchant for *White liberalism/anarchy*.
In other words, this is yet another link in the chain of White on White crime for the purpose of maintaining White supremacy. Even more ironically, Portland (much like Austin, TX) enjoys a White liberal reputation for “getting it right” or more close to right than most even though POC who live there strongly beg to differ and have said so ever since Jim Crow allowed them to move into redlined areas.

Yeah you read it right, Portland is the Whitest city in America and it isn’t a coincidence that Trump/Barr/DHS chose to exact this oppression and terroristic abuse on a city full of White people who may be more “woke” than most but still never thought this could happen to *them*.
The whole gamble they’re making is that after incurring this level of White on White abuse, White people in Oregon (and Portland specifically) will become too terrified and discouraged to fight fascism/racism. This is an age-old “don’t be a race traitor” intimidation tactic.
It’s a stark moment of clarity when the goon gestapo has NO boundaries or scruples and DGAF how many White people it traumatizes, maims or kills and is actually taunting/daring White liberalism to either fight back or stand down while they institute apartheid for Trump/the GOP.
