It seems he thinks we have to do the main roads first but changes there are hugely more expensive and much slower to build at a time when budgets have just been slashed and COVID means there is an urgent need to provide for walking and cycling immediately.

and putting cycle tracks or limiting traffic capacity on main roads means doing the surrounding neighbourhoods as well or else they get even more choked with rat runners....

and ignores that there *are* plans for main roads - A3 and A23 cycling upgrades informed prioritisation of Oval Streatham and Brixton low traffic neighbourhoods by Lambeth.

But most of all I'm surprised he doesn't look at the people he's supporting who (behind a thin veneer) are campaigning to maintain the status quo. An unholy and entitled alliance of cabbies, school run mums, and habitual drivers of short trips who'll oppose main road changes too.

"a man is known by the company he keeps" - if you claim to be a clean air campaigner but you're allying yourself with pro-car, pro-pollution, pro status quo campaigns you really need to take a hard look at yourself.
