1/ Last week, I did an interview with @NYC_layla @GradSchoolSinai to share advice for prospective mentors, from the mentee's viewpoint.

Some thoughts below #Mentoring

🙏🏽 @DOMChairSinai @DOMSinaiNYC for being all of these things.
2/ Be approachable.

Show your mentee that even though you are incredibly busy, you can and will make time for them. Even if your schedule is packed, there is room for them.
3/ Be communicative (both ways) & open.

In addition to clear goals/expectations, mentees want to hear your experiences & successes - as well as your challenges. They want to hear that your experiments didn't always work. Ask them what they think & want to achieve.
4/ Show your mentees you care and are invested in them and their future - this is more important than just telling them. Find concrete ways to express your support and encouragement.

Remind them that you are always in their corner.
