After a delay spent trying to figure out my new gas mask I am downtown bound once more this eve. DMs are open so if you see something of interest please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m particularly interested in fed behavior. Stay smart and stay safe out there.
Tomorrow when PPB says cops were “trapped” in the JC they’ll mean this. https://twitter.com/pdxzane/status/1284350925461544961?s=21 https://twitter.com/pdxzane/status/1284350925461544961
It’s kinda nice having our old pal The Fence back tbh
Crowd is still quite large and festive. Chants by the Sacred Elk, a tiny fire and a hip hop performance on the steps of the Justice Center.
Feds appear to huge screams of GO HOME
Nobody did a thing and cops and Feds are out
A James Duncan was just attested
There was literally a concert going on when cops and feds did this
Insane amount of gas but the crowd didn’t go far—essentially just out of the massive cloud’s reach. To reiterate: this was 1000% accelerated by law enforcement.
Through it all, @riotribs maintains its chill. Same as it ever was.
A few brave souls return to shout at PPB
Cops retreat into the JC (why come out?) and I realize I’ve been holding my breath for quite a while. Small crowd is growing here, big group near riot ribs outside of the gas cloud and apparently another group went to Ted Wheeler’s abode, one assumes to wish him good tidings.
Fotos:
Marching back to chants of “Whose park? Our park!” Which is literally true for us and not true for the heat, who don’t live or pay taxes here.
One of these street preachers has affixed himself to the stoplight pole via some sort of cord. I suddenly CANNOT WAIT until the next round of tear gas comes.
His face at the end hahaha
The preacher fellow was eventually escorted from the grounds peaceably with his bible.

The Sacred Fence has been repurposed as a barrier by the protesters at one end of main, huge crowd to the other by the JC.
Happy to see the “femboy hooters” tag remains. I really hope that’s what I think it is, which is suggesting the idea of a Hooters with femboys working at it.
Super chill scene with lots of impassioned speakers. The streets and the park are totally packed. As usual there are several folks picking up trash, as usual the park is clean other than graffiti.
The Sacred Fence hath been repurposed once more. Whoa boy. Seems dumb that law enforcement provides obstruction tools. Just let people in the park. Jesus.
The murder holes are being obscured.

“Chinga la chota” sign.
Murder hole opens and gas is tossed out
Protesters counter with smoke of their own
Fence is put back to cheers
Tons of people on the fed courthouse property
Rage providing the soundtrack
Rage *really* providing the soundtrack. Well done @tmorello
LRAD announcing his feelings are hurt and attracts a large crowd. Folks gearing up. Donovan reminding himself to breathe.
LRAD guy asked why he sits in the car while everyone else gets down. No response as of yet.
More fence repurposing. I mean, what were they thinking with these clown fences? “Hey let’s give the protesters something that will greatly aid them.” Is there ever any strategy? I’m not trolling—night after night the move seems to be a shrug and then savage violence.
Cops are in the building next door to the Justice Center and protesters are forming a barricade to lessen the pace of their attack.
Lots of shouts along the lines of “We don’t want to hurt you, we just don’t want you to come out of your pig pen!”
It’s quite a scene, this scene
Heavy duty fireworks set off directly at the JC door. There are so many people here there are folks doing things on several fronts. @DHS_Wolf and his secret police have only embolden this city. Never seen so many people stick around when it gets weird and violence is coming.
Scene at the JC side door.
There is fence everywhere you turn except for where it was placed.
LRAD guy complains about the blockcades, can barely hear him from all the boos.

Who cares if the protesters lean a fence on a door? Is the horrid violence that follows makes law enforcement look terrible, ends in lawsuits and hatred of the police worth it?
This doesn’t even properly show the amount of folks out here, lots are in the park as well.
I think they haven’t charged out because of the size of the crowd and the fact it’s clearly people of every type and not just antifa super soldiers:
Gas attack from earlier. So much gas. Again, there was a hip hop performance going on so I can’t wait to hear this get justified. I saw @alex_zee right behind me during this as well. No reason for the gas at all.
While there’s a break in the action, let me express that I used to really enjoy food before all this began, but now?

Body: we really must eat at some point and Riot Ribs smells delicious.

Mind: we subsist on PTSD, THC and CBD alone now. That’s it. An all letter diet.
. @tuckwoodstock makes a fine point here. @revnatscider hooked us journalists up something serious.

We’ve been deemed unlawful and given four minutes to leave. Why? A fence on a door?
Alright folks, get to stretchin’
Law enforcement has once again, 1000% escalated this. People were leaving.

Also, up with the street lights?
Charge
Advance. I missed the first minute bc I’m hyperventilating
These guys are pointing guns at every car and person in the area. Random car drives by? Ten long guns aimed at them.
There is a storm trooper for every protester. What a joke.
And then? Naked Athena appeared and the little boys didn’t know what to do.
Amazing.
PUSSY POWER
She won
I... cannot believe what I just saw.
Huge crowd marching back to the JC/FC/PNJZ (Portland No Journalism Zone).
Another advance
. @MrOlmos captured that last charge beautifully. In this sort of carnage you see how some quite literally cannot get out of the way in time and are beaten for their troubles. https://twitter.com/mrolmos/status/1284417770973626371?s=21 https://twitter.com/MrOlmos/status/1284417770973626371
. @alex_zee on the charge and she makes a good point that I hope the talking haircuts who just started caring about this understand: Portland police was doing fine with the brutalizing on their own. https://twitter.com/alex_zee/status/1284416374844973057?s=21 https://twitter.com/alex_zee/status/1284416374844973057
We need to come together and protect @riotribs—people who *actually* serve this community. (Literally.) @PortlandPolice are harassing a wholly altruistic and community-based service solely bc it makes them look bad.

So, make them look bad. Make noise. https://twitter.com/riotribs/status/1284423784355831811?s=21 https://twitter.com/riotribs/status/1284423784355831811
