as i reflected on what happened on here regarding SA at USF, i can honestly say I’ve learned how to be better. if i truly believe in restorative justice and the abolishment of the prison system, i have to ask for rehabilitation rather than deterrence.

We as a community need to find better solutions than shunning those on the list. if we don’t fix it, there’s gonna be a group of abusers doing the same things. i checked myself so much when it came to this..

I checked my friends on there. now what? what about the survivors? we need to make sure this person doesn’t do anything like that again. whether it be through education or other means, to simply block and unfollow does nothing.

i know i checked myself about the people i cut out of my life. I hope after some reflection everyone can do the same. under no circumstances am i apologizing for the actions of a grown man or womxn. i am only asking we truly stand for what we’ve been protesting for.

remember being wrong is only hard if you make it so. you can be wrong and grow. both sides could’ve handled the situation better (myself included). i just refuse to be apart of another problem.
