So much the LRT from @thesarahkelly resonates but esp this bit. What I love most in sports are stories: How did you get to where you? How do you improve? What drives you? How do I get a reader to care about this person past the puck they put in (or keep out) of the net?
I& #39;ll read everything about stats, analytics, systems, but at the end of the day, I& #39;m most interested in the people who strap on the skates. Does that make me less than someone who does a deep dive into a defensive system? Does that make me a fraud? IDK but I think about it a lot.
Anyway, like, my life in sports is a collection of blogs and podcasts and bylines on random sites, not to the level of "this is actually my job", but there& #39;s a lot in there that still hits home for me. https://amateurhour.substack.com/p/about-that-story">https://amateurhour.substack.com/p/about-t...
(all of the typos in this thread to try to get the tweets under the character limit, lol. please, pretend they& #39;re not there. i swear i know how to write.)
