YOU'RE DAMN RIGHT IT'S MISSISSIPPI STATE DAY

Hoo wee, was 2018 a missed opportunity for Moorhead and Mississippi State. 2-5 vs SP+ top 25 (with 2 tight losses), 6-0 vs everyone else.

The 2019 team: less good.

Moorhead's RPO offense was infinitely better at the R than the P in both years. Obviously Mike Leach'll change that a bit. Kylin Hill's maybe the best RB he's ever had, though. No idea what to expect from him this year.

Miss State defense: 1st in def SP+ in 2018, 70th in 2019. Still rushed the passer pretty well, but that was about it. And now 8 of 16 guys with 200+ snaps are gone. I like Leach's DC hire (Arnett from SDSU), but improvement might be slow.

In an alternate universe, where we at least pretended to do what was necessary to have a full CFB season, MSU was set up for a great September, miserable October and tossup November. We'll see what changes.
