If you're just now finding out about what's going in in Portland, please know that the people of Portland have been protesting every night for over a month, despite constant violence from the police, neo-nazis, and now the feds. If you're able, here are some ways you can help:
A bail fund has been set up by @pdxgdc, who have been working every day to bail out protestors and educate the community on their rights. They're very transparent about how they use the money. Their gofundme is here: https://gf.me/u/x9vbh2
Medics literally keep people alive, despite also being subjected to police violence. @PDXActionMedics provide medical support to protestors & distribute free hand sanitizer to the community. They accept donations via gofundme, paypal, and venmo: http://www.rosehipmedics.org/donate/
Local journalists show up to protests and document all the different ways cops break the law, including by brutalizing the press themselves. Follow them for coverage (many also have donation links on their profiles): @MrOlmos @IwriteOK @alex_zee @tuckwoodstock @DonovanFarley
And while we're on the topic of press, don't post or RT pictures or videos with info that can identify protestors, because cops use that to arrest people. Words are enough to amplify what's happening, but if you really need images, focus on the cops.
