During lockdown: Having time + remaining positive + working hard + being honest with myself + doing (vs talking) = the key to unlocking new facets to my career. Food for thought. A thread.
I realized that I was tied down by my own business and ventures, sounds crazy when I say it out loud. I just didn’t have the mental capacity to do more, and the 2019 numbers dipped, so resources were removed and I got my hands dirty, which I don’t mind.
However, wherever you put your time, takes away from something else, I mean you can’t be in 2
Places at the same time (Judy Boucher said) So I was heading towards a burnout imo and not in my best space mentally. Constantly busy. ALWAYS had something to do.
People would say it’s great to be busy!! It is, when you’re doing the things you (think you) love the most. Spent more time on my laptop and phone doing admin than on stage or in studio or creating ideas. At what gain? At what cost?
THEN. My laptop crashed due to faulty power (end 2019). Got another one. That laptop got stolen via remote jamming (early 2020 and couldn’t claim from insurance 😶) Then phone got stolen (early 2020) then COVID 19 Hit. Then lockdown happened. *check 1st tweet of this thread. 🙏🏽
