I spent most of yesterday in New Hampshire, where the official state slogan "Live Free or Die" is posted just about everywhere. This is a curious choice for a state that is 93% White. "Live free" means a White ethno-state predicated on radicalized and classed extraction, exploitation, and subjugation. Marx and Engels derived much of their thoughts from observations of Manchester, England. Manchester, New Hampshire might be a more apt contemporary case study.

NH has no general sales tax or income tax. It also, as ms pookie informed me, was one of a few states that didn't really ever change anything due to covid. We saw plenty of people with no masks yesterday. "Live Free" indeed.

There is also a huge border security apparatus, because NH is one of a few (maybe the only?) states in the US with an international land border and international maritime border. We saw much policing in the waters, marked by the manned boats and unmanned markers.

Speaking of policing, get a load of this shit.

We walked around this very small island outside Portsmouth and saw a seagull pulverizing a crab. Based on the number of cracked crab shells that fill the island, this clearly was not new. The seagulls have a seafood buffet for themselves, it seems.

So while this seagull was enjoying its crab cake in peace, a White boy who was prolly 6 years old charged towards the seagull, causing it to take its lunch and haul ass. Momentarily free from the boy, the bird found another part of the island to continue its crab cuisine.

The same 6 year old White boy charged at the bird AGAIN, but this time he screamed: "No seagull is gonna eat a crab on my watch!"

Let's look at the independent clause, "No seagull is gonna eat a crab" and the dependent clause, "On my watch"

This 6 year old White boy has determined that the order of nature is inviolate to his sensibilities. He did not look to be a poor child; I would guess that he or his White family eats crab, lobster, and other high-priced seafood (that used to be food for prisoners...) often.

But the 'problem' arose because a non-human life form had access to it. Mind you, this non-human life form has been accessing crab for eons. Sylvia Wynter is slapping us in the face.

Now, the dependent clause, "on my watch," is the disposition of the "problem" of seagulls eating crab: police power. This little White boy has become a patrolman at a public park. "On my watch" also signals a rotation of duty; like someone punching the clock.

I find it fascinatingly terrifying that a six year old White boy has learned enough about his Whiteness and masculinity that, at a moment's notice, he can deputize himself and start the work of policing.

White people, what are you teaching your children? (How) are you unlearning the internal cop that has been cultivated within your psyche and practice?

This is something--chasing a seagull off its food as part of one's duty--i can only see a White boy doing. Spending a bunch of time in central NY for most of the year, it's something I saw frequently at public parks there. White children terrorizing ducks.

These are never the totality of kids present, btw. Both in NY and NH there are non White children. There are also White children who don't police animals. But 100% of the policing has been White kids. It's been disturbing to witness.

This is the "or Die" part of the state slogan. At first glance, the slogan suggests that the person who is unable to "Live Free" would be the one to die. That may well be the case, but it's not the whole case. "Or Die" means that you, non-human, will also die.

"Live Free or Die" is a motto of murder.

Refusal to accept the extraction, exploitation, and subjugation (the White way to "Live Free") is an invitation to death. An incitement to arms.

Black people's assertion of humanity thus can only be met as such. This is why the military tanks, the riot gear, and the war crime weapons such as tear gas come out for us. Quite literally White folks Whiteness is under siege, & they are content to slaughter every last one of us

And I want us to consider that this incubation of violent White supremacist patriarchy and capitalist extractive logic is not being incubated in Indiana, Ohio, or Iowa. But on the coasts, in the playgrounds of the wealthy, where an Ivy League college is located, where several...

...more are within a few hours drive, where one of the most 'prestigious' boarding schools on the planet (Exeter) is located, where future capitalists and war criminals get their primary tutelage and cultivation.
