This school situation is stressing me out and I don't even have school aged children.

Like, not opening: bad for kids. terrible for teachers who have dozens to hundreds of students. nearly impossible for parents who need to work or people who can't afford childcare or internet.

Opening: At best, kids, teachers and their families get sick. At worst, potentially deadly for kids, teachers, and their families. Outbreaks will mean more closures and reverting to remote learning, which brings us back to the first tweet in this thread.

Not to mention kids for whom school was a haven to escape abuse, or families who depended on school free lunch programs to offset the cost of feeding their children.

I'm so sorry teachers, parents, and kids. The federal government is failing all of us, but especially you.
