Only a very small percentage of Hermés bags (Birkins, Kelly’s etc) are investments after use . Just like a car the moment you use it, it looses value.

Leather bags aren’t an investment guys. Unless you are buying to resell (what I do) which means you can’t use it.
This has been floating in the media for years as the price increases have jumped like stocks. But it’s a misconception and a lot of people who save up to get one are literially get stuck with a £8,000 bag they can’t really afford and now can’t move.
The leather choice of the bag is also a huge indicator of how much your bag is worth.

Epsom and Togo are the most valuable but then it depends on the colour of the bag. Classic colours are the most in demand.

Swift, Veau Jonathan etc are not valuable leathers or in demand.
The point of Hermés is that it is a LIFESTYLE brand. Their target market aren’t buying to invest. It’s a bag to be used. It’s a everyday item.

What’s £8,000 to a millionaire for example?.....Nothing. The bag is lifestyle.

The bags are only a small part of the Hermés brand.
The chances of walking into a store and being offered their dream bag with no previous brand buy in is 0.

What happens is they may offer you bag that isn’t popular/ nice and if you decline they won’t offer you again. It takes a few purchases (£8,000 a time) to get what you want
Size, colour and leather all play a role in how much your bag is worth. For example a Birkin 25cm in Swift as an investment vs a Birkin 25cm in Epsom is huge.

The resale of a Birkin 25cm in Epsom is around 40% profit. But the chances of getting offered one is very very low.
The reason why it’s low is not because they are mean (well sometimes) but it’s because of production levels. High value bags are produced in low quantities (20-30 a piece world wide) and then are offered to VIPS first. Hence why people use people like me to get their dream bag
Where your going to see a huge investment is in crocodile pieces, which start at around £36,000 instore.

Instant return depending on colour is minimum £10,000 sometimes depending on the item I’ve seen £50,000 profit margins as in a investment BUT...
The level of spending you would have to do to get offered a bag is huge. So is it really an investment?

To be offered crocodile instore they normally want to see you can afford the brands lifestyle and will offer you their full dinning sets which costs around £18,000 first.
Once you spend £18,000 ish on china wear. You’ll be offered a crocodile normally. But you’ve already spent £18,000 so you need to make that money back (if an investment) and hopefully your offered a bag that is high value crocodile:
Black, Bordeaux, Emerald, Graphite etc
Of course some leather bags are investments. You can make a good £6,000 sometimes but to be given those bags you would need to buy a few (£8,000 each time) that you might not like and you can’t use it. So is it really an investment for a first time buyer?

Absolutly not.
My advice? Buy it because you want it and because you love the brand. Build a great collection and with the steady price increase you will have eventually have pieces you can sell as investments later on. The preloved industry is booming.
But DO NOT buy Hermés bags as an investment as a young person. It’s stupid. Focus on owning a house first. Invest and put it into non alternative investments first. I know many who are now stuck with a bag they can’t afford to keep. £8,000 is a lot of money. Think carefully
Lastly we are talking about bags! They dont cure cancer and the world doesn’t treat you any better when you get one.

Luxury is lifestyle. Don’t feel the pressure of social media to buy materialistic items. Focus on having the actual wealth, not just looking the part.
What makes me an expert?

I’ve been an Hermés reseller for over 5 years but have a total of 10 years experience selling them.

It’s not easy as I am the only black woman doing it at this level. It’s a fantastic career but extremely hard work 🤎✨

But please let’s stop forcing this need to look wealthy rather than be wealthy.

Social media isn’t real it’s a projection. Majority of my clients aren’t spending their pay checks on these bags. They are using the interest on other investments to buy these bags.

That’s the KEY
Any questions let me know.

If your considering buying one, I’m happy to tell you which one to go for so drop me a message or a DM and I’ll go through it properly with you.

The end! 🤎✨ #BirkinBaby
