Why I like PewDiePie: A Thread
First of all, why do people dislike him? It started when he did an experiment where he wanted to see how far people would go on a website named Fivver. He payed people to hold up a sign which had the most offensive thing that Pewd thought of atm. (1/4)
(2/4) He didn’t think they would actually do it, but they did, and was shocked. Many weeks later, WSJ made a out of context article saying that Pewd was a Nazi because of the message that was written. WSJ contacted his sponsors, and his MCN about it, and forced them to drop him.
(3/4) He couldn’t even immediately respond to the article because he rented a place with no WiFi for him & his girlfriend to stay during Valentine’s Day. It caused a lot of misfortune for Pewd, and it got a lot of clicks.
(4/4) A couple of other incidents happend, but they were also false, or just a mistake. Any label such as racist, transphobic, and sexist aren’t true, but articles still report them. Anyway, here are some good things about Pewd:
1. He’s charitable!💫 He has donated, and raised more than 3 million dollars to charities. He has made big impacts because of these, such as “Charity: Water” where he made 6 thousand water stations for kids in Africa. He also gives away most money he earns to charities as well!
2. He has talked about importance issues!💫 He has made videos and livestreams for important stuff like BLM, Mental Health, Coronavirus, YouTube Burnout, and etc. He was also one of the first YouTubers to speak out on some of YouTube’s problems such as demonetization.
3. He has helped other YouTubers!💫 He created a MCN to specifically help YouTubers, and he gives shoutouts to smaller channels. He has also helped YouTubers when they’re hated on, such as James Charles. He was one of the first people to defend him.
4. He gives good advice💫 He has made videos talking about stuff like how to do YouTube, how to be happy, how to get a good workout, and etc. He also gives really good life advice in some videos, such as when he talks about self-control.
5. He does a lot of stuff on YouTube!💫 He has made philosophy videos, cooking videos, gaming videos, movie reviews, book reviews, closet reviews, meme videos, commentary videos, skits, music, vlogs, a TV show, and etc.
6. He cares about his fans!💫 He has made a Discord, and has done some Omegle videos just so he can interact with his audience. He even has blocked people who says mean things about his audience, or fans. He always appreciates them, and their thoughts on his videos.
7. He respects wamen!💫
8. He has made jobs, and opportunities to people!💫 “Scare PewDiePie employed more than 100 people on set, and Pewd has given people attention by doing collabs to the YouTubers he likes.” This quote is from someone who worked at Maker Studios.
10. He has helped save lives!💫 He has donated a lot of money to life saving charities, and helped save the life of a fan named Johnny Dee. Johnny was dying of Pneumonia, and Pewd spread the GoFundMe on Twitter and YouTube. They soon reached the goal.
He also spreaded the message of a missing child named Owen Harding on Instagram.
I made videos on my channel that show a lot of the reasons why I like PewDiePie. Here’s a video that compiled all of the stuff that happened during the WSJ incident. It shows a lot of the arguments defending PewDiePie in this situation so give it a watch.
Here’s a compilation of some of his charity work
And here’s my decade tribut video where I share my favorite inspirational quotes from him
He also takes the blame for a lot of his controversies, and responds as soon as possible. He apologized for the Fivver incident in the same video it was in, and posted a Tumblr statement before the WSJ. Pewd made his video addressing the bridge incident two days after it happened
Also YouTubers like Jack, Mark, and Ethan like PewDiePie after the controversies. Mark, and Jack even made their own videos defending him.
I also have seen people say that Felix is bad because he used to say the r word, which is something he has apologized for, and has said was childish. The last time he said it was when he was drinking, and has done a lot of photos, and made wishes to his disabled fans.
PewDiePie made an entire video about Sushant, who he didn’t even know before the incident, but spoke about him way more respectfully than most people did. He also said that suicide is not the answer, and has said that he wants justice! #SushantSinghRajput #RIPSushant #pewdiepie
He also talked about how bad T-Series was a year before this incident, and India banned them so people won't see them. https://twitter.com/PewdArchive/status/1275056953102917633
