Ok so here’s what I think about the BU. I think this is actually about Jin’s journey to finding himself. His true self.

In the ly hyyh notes, Jin talks about how he has realised that he shouldn’t be putting up a facade to impress others and should instead acknowledge and embrace his flaws and mistakes. He says he wants to find the map of the soul which I’m guessing is his true self.

This can only happen through the process of individuation which is when you face your shadows and all the ‘bad’ parts of yourself in order to become a fuller more aware being rather than remaining one dimensional.

In the 2018 mama vcr, we see this. A pretty good hint for what was to come.

Then we got motsp. In the hyyh notes from persona, we got to see another side of Jin. He was more irritated & Tae felt like he didn’t seem like the same person. He described Jin’s eyes as cold and indifferent. Then we got MOTS7 which is about facing our shadows and flaws etc.

In the 2019 mama vcr, we got this. And the name of their Japanese album? ‘Map of the soul 7: the journey.’

I believe that the next album could be either ‘Map if the Soul: the hero’ or ‘Map of the Soul: the self’ or ‘myself’ or ‘true self.’ I don’t think we’ll have a 5th album for the series as the ly series incl Face yourself was also 4 albums

Another thing. I have 3 theories. I feel like either Jin has Dissociative Identity Disorder (the boys are not real, just his sub personalities) and maybe Schizophrenia, he is dreaming (and nothing is real) or maybe the BU is real

Jung believed that dissociation was normal during the process of individuation. For the first one, I have a bit of proof (?) for which I’ll make a separate thread. I’m just gonna leave this here for now.

2018 mama vcr. It seems like they’re all just one person

Now for the second theory. We’ve seen the word ‘dream’ appear many times in the notes, the mvs, the vcrs, etc. Recently, we saw it in ON mv. (2nd pic is the 2018 mama vcr)

According to Jung, dreams are very important in the process of individuation and help us connect with the unconscious. You know what the most common symbol for the unconscious is? Water.

And we see a loooot of water in the BU. I feel like Jin goes in and out of dreams. Some scenes are real life while others are dreams. The boys aren’t real.
Plus, look what I found. These are very similar to Jin’s experiences.

I have a lot more to say but my thoughts are still jumbled. I’ll make another thread later for the dream theory.
