This weekend my feelgood reading is The Secret of You and Me by @MelLenhardt, which is a sapphic modern Texas take on Persuasion, and is also coughs loudly* the FIRST LGBTQ+ ROMANCE PUBLISHED UNDER THE @MillsandBoon BRAND. Yup, you got me—the first. Ebook next month, pb October.

Back in ancient history I was a @MillsandBoon author and the fact that this is the FIRST queer romance published under their brand in the UK makes me want to cheer, but also makes me want to say “Why on earth has it taken so long????????” Anyway I hope it’s the first of many.

If you can’t wait till August/October for sapphic romance goodness you must IMMEDIATELY find the wonderful books of authors like @ClareLydon @RClareAshton @Kikiarcherbooks @annalarnerbooks @ENichols_Author and so many in the UK #lesfic community.

As an author who has recently focused more on writing wlw fiction I’ve found the #Lesfic community to be incredibly welcoming and supportive and generous. @MillsandBoon can get books in front of general readers and that is a HUGE step but great books are out there already.

I also recommend @ClareLydon’s Lesbian Book Club and Lesbians Who Write podcasts for finding great wlw reads.
