Since ramai nak pergi Penang should I do a thread of places I usually bring friends to when they come visit me here?
ok ill continue here in a couple of hours ive class rn 🤍
First of all, I am not originally from penang but I’ve lived here for almost 15years. This thread is just based on my experience and my friends recommendation. Photos from google. Not gonna be much bc I usually sleep at home.
For accommodation, theres a lot on airbnb and idk which is great bc i... have a house here. But I suggest you get one in Georgetown to ease your plans/ Ferringhi if you like the beach.
♡ Breakfast ♡
1. Roti canai Gemas Road, never tried but all my friends love the place
2. Astaka Taman Tun, I grew up eating here. Great for a local-like-experience.
3. Nasi Padang International, dad’s fav. heavy food but packed so come early!

Only 3 bc homie i eat at home
Rozanas Batik
Batik Classes! This is a small gallery in Lebuh Acheh owned by a Malaysian artist. Sesuai for couples/ friends. Price are below RM100! Make sure to call/dm on ig to book due to covid. I think walkins pun ada. Its open BTW despite what google says & its my mum’s 🤠
HinBus Depot
Its an art space. Theres a gallery, wood shop, skate ramp, cafes & restaurant etc. All in one space. Come on Sundays because they have sunday market with booths and music. Many installations and people even do yoga there.
Photos of me at Hin Bus. Why am I sharing these? Absolutely no reason 🤍 TQ for not complaining
Good cakes at China House, theres also a gallery on second floor. but yes good cakes man good cakes.
Walk around the town
You can walk through Armenian Street there are many shops, cafes and wall murals. At night, try lovelane, many pubs to hang with friends. Very meriah but downside is many crazy drunks 🥴
Its best to rent bikes or scooters because the streets are narrow and not many parking spots. Or just walk and lose the calories you bouta gain in Penang😳🤠
Some other cafes ♡
Theres many but I like Bricklin Cafe and Narrow Marrow. The rest pls google lazy ass
Ferringhi
Obviously if you love the beach. Theres many beaches but I always go to the one near Ferringhi starbucks just because theres a parking lot just nearby.
Penang Hill
You can see the Penang scenery and its cold sometimes haha. Also pls go if you love nature, especially The Habitat
for local food, I usually just bring my friends to:
1. Mee sorong Esplanade
2. Kapitan
For nasi kandar im sorry idk because I rarely eat nasi kandar 😃
Other places you can visit, but Ive never went to LOL
1. Entopia Penang Butterfly Farm
2. Avatar Secret Garden
3. The top Penang
The rest you can find on google.
Okay I actually know a good place for nasi kandaq but courtesy of jaga hati all my penang friends i will not tell ✋🏻😔✊🏻
Rozanas Batik
Open hour: 11am-6 pm everyday except Monday. Classes are RM35 for colouring only RM75 for waxing and colouring. Batik on papers below RM10
Thats the end of the thread. This is just the places I bring my friends to. You can do more research if you want 🤍
With that I would like to say if you have any additional questions please do....not ask me because i dont know anything🧚🏻🧚🏻🧚🏻 But yes, doing this to help local businesses here regain their income loss due to Covid19 :((
Oh and if youre looking for like a food thread this is not it bc im not a big fan of Penang food so im sorry lovelies ☹️🤍
