There is a branch of the regime known as reformists (or moderates)

Their job is to give the illusion to the world that reform is possible in Iran. They help the regime occupy Iran with brute force and sheer terror to prevent civil society and dissidents from entering the space.
These self-proclaimed reformists participate in the dictatorship's sham elections to maintain the illusion that Iran has a democratic system.

They use shame tactics to emotionally manipulate and control Iranians so they participate in these elections.
The participation of Iranians in the regime's sham elections is key to perpetuating the illusion that Iran is a democracy.

Iranians are just pawns to these "reformists" in their bloody chess game of power.
Here is where you really need to pay attention.
The regime understands the importance of perpetuating the illusion that it is reformable.

They spend a lot of money infiltrating the international community with their deceit and lies which become the dominant narrative on Iran in the mainstream media, academia, and think tanks.
Ever since 2017, the revival of #IranProtests, when courageous Iranians called for the downfall of the regime, which came after the Obama admin tried to stabilize Iran through stabilizing the regime, it has been more difficult for "reformists" to convince the world of their lies.
Ever since the nationwide #IranProtests in 2019/2020, "reformists" have lost almost all relevancy.

The unity, determination and resilience of brave Iranians have made it hard for the world to ignore them at the expense of business deals with the regime.
Despite the loss of relevancy these regime "reformists" who do not represent the best interests of Iranian civil society have the attention and support of the international community who listen to their opinion on Iran more than that of actual civil society leaders.
The way the regime "reformists" maintain their hold over the international community despite their lack of legitimacy or relevancy is money. The regime has a lot of it. And the world loves their money.
Biden will likely foolishly attempt to stabilize Iran through a containment strategy that will work toward encouraging the regime to make nice ($$$ deals) with other regimes in the region. The only problem with this strategy is that it doesn't take into consideration Iranians!
A containment strategy will not bring human rights to Iran. And Iranians will not stop rising as a result. These uprisings will be the downfall of any strategy that involves stabilizing or normalizing the regime.

What we need to do is get Biden to see all this and change course.
The best thing we can do to support the people in Iran other than speak up about the human rights situation in Iran is relentlessly call for free and fair elections in Iran in order for Iranians to be able to decide on their own future and destiny.
But it's not just about the people of Iran.

Caring about what's best for Iran is what is best for you too.

The regime in Iran is a major world problem and they affect your life too.
