People like to rag on Ivy League schools as being a bad educational investment but I am really not so sure about that, given career prospects and the aid situation. The real troublesome category is "not highly ranked but expensive private liberal arts colleges."

Mostly this latter category exists as a way for people with family money and a B- average to go to a college with nice small seminars. And, like, fine. Whatever. But sometimes people without much money are convinced to shell out for those places. And then it becomes problematic.
