I know generallly speaking the autistic community has a negative perspective of masking, and rightly so.

However, what do you all think of it when it comes to work in a helping profession?
I’m starting to see how much my flat affect, among other things, can cause me to come across as unapproachable.

Because pastoring is about serving, I’m finding myself for the first time wanting to learn how to mask in some respects so that I can be more effective in ministry.
I could get stuck on the hardship it places on me and how NTs don’t have to do it.

I could get stuck on it not being “right” and perhaps it isn’t.

But, to what end?
How worth it is being “right” if it will keep me from helping others and doing something I love?
