Top 4 Reasons Why Kevin "The Dream Eater" McHale is undeniably a BETTER SCORER than Hakeem Olajuwon (Thread);
Reason #1: Efficiency

Kevin McHale is so much more efficient than Hakeem Olajuwon, its laughable.

McHale's Most Efficient Season:
60.4 FG%, 83.6 FT%

Olajuwon's Most Efficient Season:
52.9 FG%, 77.9 FT%

Mchale's Career:
55.4 FG%, 79.8 FT%

Olajuwon's Career:
51.2 FG%, 71.2 FT%
Reason #2: Similar Volume in Peak Years

Many people think of Olajuwon as this high volume, 30+ PPG scorer, but his highest scoring season is actually only 27.8 PPG (51.7 FG% / 75.6 FT%). Not much different from Mchale's best of 26.1 PPG (60.4% / 83.6%)
Reason #3: Role on Team (Part 1)

Not only was McHale a much more efficient scorer who had similar volume in his best years, but he also did this as a 2nd option his entire career. He even came off the bench in the first half of his career! Had he been a #1 option like Hakeem...
... He could've easily matched/eclipsed Hakeem's volume. Also, there is no evidence that proves that 2nd options are always more efficient. When Jordan retired for Baseball, Pippen's efficiency went UP from 47% to 49%! Kevin McHale's career high FGA was his MOST efficient season!
Reason #4: H2H

Mchale and Olajuwon met 1 time H2H in POs in the 86 Finals. Mchale was the primary defender on Hakeem.

Hakeem put up 24.7 PPG on 47.9 FG% (66.7 FT%), which is respectable, but Mchale TORE IT UP with averages of 25.8 PPG on 57.3% FG% (80.4 FT%)!
